Went to the beach, found some AWESOME stuff, including a live clam and a scallop(??) that were still in their shells, the scallop in a B I G shell, so we boiled him (and a ton others) when we got back and now the hotel villa STINKS but hey I have some COOL pictures and some cool shells!!
We found a gazillion and one starfish, including a purple one like the kind I found the last time we were down here. We also went to the Alligator Farm (would link it but their site is down right now) and got some GREAT pics of all sorts of cool gators and crocs! The kids had a BLAST and the adults did too, well except DH but he H A T E S the beach (he's a freak) so he sat with LT and played in the sand then took him to the car, party pooper!
SMIL took me shopping last night to get the kids some clothes for Xmas and they each got a toy (LT got 2 puzzles only because they were so inexpensive, BT got a GameBoy game). Then they got about 2-3 outfits each, I can't remember. So all in all today was a WONDERFUL day. Going to the beach is like going home for me, I really feel at peace when I'm watching the birds and the waves and all the cool shells washing up....therapy that only costs one car ride. I'm trying to talk DH into waking up early to get some more cool shells in the AM once the hightide goes down, we'll see how that turns out
Well we have to get ready to go to FIL's. Update soon, hopefully before we leave (on Friday)....either way you'll have pics and all sorts of cool stuff come Monday!!!!

How can he NOT like the beach?? That's like hating sex. He doesn't hate that too, does he? *suspicious look* It sounds like you're having a blissfully wonderful time - wish I were there.
Hah you cant get your hubby onto the beach and i cant get mine off he gets locked in..lol its freezing cold and he wants to go to the beach cuz it is low low tide and he can get me lots of shells cuz i like them..i like them allright but he loves to get them more than i like em..he spent 3 hours in the rocks at the jetty getting them. He didnt even have to take anything live out there were so many washed up. I was tempted to have him pry me a few starfish off the rocks though but I just couldnt do it
I have boxes of the things to take with me now and some are really cool!

Hopefully you can convince him the beach is cheaper than therapy.
It sounds like an awesome vacation....the beach is so wonderful. I hope your little turtles like it as much as you do ^_^
Glad you're having such an awesome time! I've only ever found a starfish once on a beach in VA as a kid. Lucky! (How was the scallop?)

Ah The beach. Iave not been to the beach in so long. Think we will have to make a trip soon. Glad you are still enjoying yourself. Looks like this trip is turning out a lot better than you expected
*Looks around at the snow drifts* I WANNA GO TO THE BEACH!! Maybe you can leave him home next time and take me instead

I dun like the beach - but only cos it's generally filled with *shudder* other humans.
If it were just me, MrB and the sand and the sea (gee..that rhymes...), I'd like it much much better. That said, I did manage to swim in the ocean whilst we were at Marco Island a couple of years ago. I think the image of me in a swimsuit successfully cleared out any sharks that may have been lurking
lol, poor little scallop! Bet he was tasty!
