  • It's Not My Party, But I'm Planning it.
So, I'll Cry if I Want To.

Sis is finally having her birthday party/housewarming party/boyfried's birthday party all rolled into one party.  And who is the MORON who said, "OH LET ME THROW IT FOR YOU!"?  Why, that would be... ME.

Now, I know you're saying, "Yeah, well you're the one who spoke up!"  Well that is true, but my sister planned a baby shower for me when I had BT so I figured I return the favor (She'll never have babies, thank GAWD, so this is my chance to return the favor to her)...ANYWAY back to the whole ordeal....

I have to decorate, cook, pick up gifts and other essentials, and I get to do it all on the Friday before or the Saturday of!  This wouldn't be too bad, but my sister keeps adding shit to her menu...such as, "OH! Make those cheese straws YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE CHEESE STRAWS!!"  Well, being a person who thrives on people liking something that I make or do... I make it (or do it)...so now I sort of have to make the cheese straws.  And I need plates, and napkins (oh wait I have some of those HERE, YAY! Along with cups, I have TONS O plastic cups, don't ask..I'll blog about my grocery shopping habits later...)  And I will need balloons, lots of balloons, but those will come from the Publix up the road, thankyouverymuch!

I was planning on this really cool party complete with beavers EVERYWHERE....but then realized that I'm so fucking gawd damn sick of planning, decorating, and just THINKING about parties that I'm going to puke if I have to plan another one (I do have to plan another one, on the 1st of March, then another around the 15th of March..) So, here I sit thinking about just calling Publix telling them to make a big veggie tray, a fruit tray, and a meat/cheese tray...and throw in one of those sheetcakes with the yellow 'old lady' roses on the top, white cake, BTW.  And so far this is looking better and better...or maybe just hiring the BBQ place down the street to cater the whole fucking affair.  I still will have to make some sort of punch or something...who knows what I'll be doing.  I am NOT a party planner...I thought that it'd be fun, it isn't.  I thought that I could do it, I can't (well I can, but gawd damn, if I don't want to).  So this is it for me, from now on I'll be the lady who buys a few balloons, a party ensemble from a catalog and a sheet cake from publix, screw the originality of throwing creative parties..my brain is tired....

Not to mention that we're getting our refund on Friday and I won't be able to go and 'play shop' until Sunday, if I don't have a rampaging hang over or I'm not in jail. *Speaking of the refund, we WILL be paying off ALL the credit cards, getting DH new tires (I keep forgetting he needs them) and then just playing around with the rest...nothing too spectacular, but when his bonus gets here, I get diamonds and furniture, sweet mother of everything holy!

  • There's been alot of parties where we have ended up with everything pre-made from Costco. My mom thinks she is Martha Stewart and is horrified when I do this. But with enough alcohol, no one has ever complained.

  • I know you didn't have this kind of time, but this is why I'm already planning Josh's birthday party in August...
    Try and have fun, okay?

  • Man, you're like Party Central over there.  And I say have it catered - it's easier.  So long as cost isn't an issue.

  • It is the people that attend the party that make it, as long as you and your sister are there I am sure everyone will have a great time.

  • Lots of beer, or other selected alcoholic beverage, makes any situation tolerable and fun   Good luck hun, wish I could slip over and help ya, cuz I love food and parties.

  • Diamonds and furniture . . . my kinda gal! LOL!
