  • Spring Break-Day 2

Well, I gave DH his ring yesterday after he got home.  I will post a picture of the ring soon..he won't take it off so I'll have to find a time when he'll sit still and I can get a pic of it on his hand.  It's  BEAUTIFUL! And I had it engraved.  'Our song' is 'Iris' by The Goo-Goo Dolls and I put a line from the song on his ring.  It was awesome!  We were laying in bed just relaxing while the kids cleaned their room and the song came on, I sent him down for my Diet Coke.  I grabbed the ring and hid it under my tongue.  When he came back, I waited for the line that was engraved on the ring to be sung and then I kissed him and gave him the ring.  It was truly AWESOME!
He knew that he was getting a ring, but I told him that the jewelers wouldn't have it ready until today, so he wasn't expecting it at all yesterday.  The look on his face was worth the gash in my gums (yeah I know, bad mental image..get over it).  I'm so happy that he likes the ring and he likes the engraving even more! LOL  Men are funny, but at least mine understood all the meanings behind the engraving.

Well, I'll post a pic later...for now it's MORE laundry and kid-corralling...yay me.

  • Spring Break-Day 1.

Well, it is 8:30a and I'm awake and listening to the cars speed down the road, the WET road. The only nice day this week will be Tuesday, and possibly Friday...haven't heard about the weekend yet.

I suppose that being my blog and all I should give an update, or at least fill everyone (including myself in a few years) in on my life....Besides, I really don't have much else to do right now...

My husband and I went through a growth spurt of sorts and are now, happier and closer than when we first became married.  Our best friends got to 'share' in this, only because I called B all the time and told her everything,...yeah, she's the best friend a chick could have.  Anyway......from what I've heard every married couple goes through this stage.  And let me just tell everyone out there that reads my blog, has only been married 5yrs or less....It gets MUCH better.  But gawd damn is it ever work.  I have honestly figured out why most marriages fail after about 3-8 years....I can't go into it here, you'd be reading all day! But, I will say this..both parties have GOT to work, HARD.  But it is worth it, every last painful thing that you have to work through, is SO worth it.

Now, with that being said........My DH lost his wedding band, about 3 years ago.  We've just never replaced it.  I lost mine about 4 years ago and it has never been replaced. So, we both look like the GenX couple with kids but who will NEVER marry.  Well, nothing against those GenX couples, but I want it to be KNOWN that I'm married!  So, DH is on a mission to get me a ring, present it to me in a memorable fashion (I'm talking Oscar winning idea here, folks..the poor man has a BIG job ahead of him) and make the ring, AWESOME!!!  He's been stressing for WEEKS!

So, what did I do?  Why I snuck out and went to the jewelers and picked out a GEORGEOUS wedding band for him and was going to surprise him, long story short I had to tell him to make a decision and so he knows he's getting a ring.  What he doesn't know is that I didn't get the ring he wanted, I got something better, and I had it engraved, so the ring will have more meaning.  And, he doesn't know how I'm going to give it to him (it's simple, nothing like what he's suppose to do for me), or when he's getting it...I'm picking it up today, I hope. So, since he MIGHT read this blog,  I can't tell you my plans, but I will tell you after they are executed

Well, I have more laundry than a prision and a house to clean, and I don't get inmates to help me, gawddamnit..so I have to wake up, make coffee and get the kids situated and then start on my day.  Have a great week everyone! Tell me how your Monday is going or how your weekend went!!

*I am sitting in bed in the dark, no coffee, and I'm on a laptop, I apologize for typos, or grammatical errors...hell I apologize for this whole post...I am not fully awake yet, hell this might be the best post I've had in ages!!

  • First Come, First Served

Well, I'm relaxed...Aunt Flo is on her way out the door, I went to my dad's today and ran the kids ragged...they'll sleep great tonight, THANKYOUJEEZUS!  The weather is AWESOME, my bulbs are coming up and one has already bloomed (I forgot the kind of bulb it is but it's PURDY!).  The birds are chirping, the sun is shining and I got to put my sweaters in the back of the closet, broke out my shorts and T's and LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!  I do, however, need a shower...we'll see if that happens before daylight ends today.  School is done until March 24!!! YAY!!!!  Then I'll only have 7 weeks left and I'l be off for the summer, returning in September.  I am going to try and get my designs for my house and a friend's worked up and organized this summer.  Man, oh man not having school this summer will rock so fucking hard...I can't even imagine it....YAY ME!!!!

DH might be getting his bonus this week or next, whatever day it comes it will be welcome in my bank account.  I hope to get a new bedding set seeing as the kids put make up on mine...

  • Why does the question, "Do Christians Worship Images?" not have anything to do with art history?  Well let's start out with the obvious...The word, 'DO' means, in the present (at least in the case of this question).  We are learning about the Romans conversion to Christianity, so just asking if Christians worship images is too broad a question.  Had the question been worded, "During the Roman conversion to Christianity, did the Christians worship images?"  Would have been a better way to word it.

Now, let's get *into* the question....According to some Christians, Catholics are NOT in fact Christians, Baptists believe something different than Methodists, or Pentecostal so asking for a short summary of the broad question, "Do Christians worship images?" is virtually impossible.

I agree that religion had a TON to do with art, of course it does.  But asking such a broad question, and not being the type of teacher to tolerate opposing views, makes my job that much more difficult.  Maybe it should make my job difficult, that *is* the reason for higher education.  BUT, for a teacher who doesn't give us feedback (except in very broad terms, such as, 'you are all doing realatively ok, but some of you could use improvement') to ask such a broad question is just ridiculous...I mean what students AREN'T doing well?  How do I know that what I think is A+ work is actually crap? I'm not getting feedback.

So, basically does she want me to tell her that depending on the denomonation of Christianity some people worship images, but they in all actuality are worshipping the ideals behind those images?  And just where in the hell am I suppose to find something that back THAT up????  It's basically a philosophical question that depends on your veiws, ideals, and morals...finding someone on the internet who just happened to make a site that contains your exact morals...well that can be damn near impossible to do.

I already have my argument made up and know what I'm going to write about, I just have to figure out how to find a site that can back those thoughts up.  This isn't a right or wrong question, but the teacher that I have, is a right or wrong type teacher.
    ******************************

Well, I wrote the 'summary' and submitted it.  I hope that it's ok.  I also read the teacher's post about our midterm papers and all she said was that so far they all look 'relatively good' what ever the fuck that means.  I guess my main problem wasn't with the question so much so as it was with the teacher asking it.  Christianity is a HUGE religion and many people practice it differently, so how can I answer that question with the right answer? There is none.  Ok, I'm off from school for the next week and a half, so you won't hear me bitch about it...aren't you just thrilled now?

  • In anticipation for Module 8, do research on the Internet to answer the following question: Do Christians worship images? Please provide a link to the source you use in your answer. You may simply summarize your findings on the topic, but your answer must be carefully thought out and supported by your findings.

This little tidbit is my weekly assignment for Art History Yes, ART HISTORY....not Theological Disscussions 101....so why is it that I have to make a religious statement?  Beside the fact that this question is so open-ended and can be construed in a gazillion different ways...See, there is a problem with this assignment for A R T HISTORY...number one, it doesn't deal with ART, number two, the professor is a Christian and in the weekly lecture she let her views on Christianity shine through, and through, and through, and...you get my point.  And finally, she is a teacher who thinks that history is an exact science and if a 'scholar' says that something is true, it is...no matter what anyone else thinks/says.  I will basically, have to read her mind and find a way to answer that question so that she approves of the answer and it sounds intelligent and is well backed.  So, there goes my week of easy work before Spring Break.  I'm about to print out 8 pages from an online encylopedia and begin reading...yay me.....

I also got my midterm grade in Conceptual Design..I got a B, but seeing as half the class got C's or F's I'm pretty proud of that B....hopefully I'll change it to an A before the semester is over with.

  • Gawd, I hate the weekdays...I mean REALLY hate them.  My kids like to be loud, and rambunctious and I hate it....I wish I had quiet kids, yeah I know those don't really exsist but still, it's nice to dream.

I just need a 5 month vacation and I'll be fine, really.......

Thank you for the comments on my DH, y'all made his year!  Thanks for stroking his ego, now I don't have to!

I am halfway done with school for the week, hopefully I can finish it all today, but with laundry, cleaning and the heathens, I mean, kids, I don't know if I can even find the time...I hope so.  Well, I'm off to hide in my red tent for a few hours and hope that my children can find the tranquilizers on their own...too bad we don't have any.....I don't want to be a mom today......

  • Just Another Manic Monday
Or the bitchy post about Aunt Flo and my stupid neighbors

Well, the kids are back, the husband is gone to work....and I'm downing coffee like it's my life blood.  Ok, at this moment it is my life blood.  I have already screamed about 500 times this morning, telling kids to stop playing on the back of the couch, pulling the blinds up, screeching at each other, ohmygod the list goes on and on...and it's just barely 9:30AM.  Shit, I need more coffee...

My weekend without the kids and with DH went wonderfully, well that was until Sunday afternoon, when Aunt Flo and her stupid ass showed up...gawd damn that bitch.  So, since the AF was here and I had a camera and a whole day left without my kids, I told DH to be my photographic subject...(NO! NOT IN THAT WAY! GAWD you dirty minded freaks!) I was taking good photos of him, he doesn't have any that are recent.  This is just one of many that I got but this one I like the best.

So, now you all know what my husband looks like...this is sort of freaky, to tell you the truth....Oh, well.   Now, don't be thinking that you'll be getting any shots of me, because I can tell you that you will NEVER see me well you MIGHT but I'd have to be made over by a team of top artists..and that will never happen so...you get my gist.

Speaking of getting gists.....My phone rings last night about 8:30 and I answer it, it is my pet ID people letting me know that a neighbor of mine has Sunshine...ok, I didn't even know she was out.  Every once in a while she'll run off down the street to the back of the neighborhood then in about 10-20 mins she's back.  She was a free-roaming dog before we got her and try as we might to keep her around us (we're trying to teach her to just stick around us when we go out, she won't use a leash, I think she was abused by one)....At any rate, one day she runs off but she's back fairly quickly, ok DH had to go find her but you know...  At any rate, she ran off but it was sporadically and it was when we weren't looking.  It takes her about 3 seconds and she can be gone from sight and sound, I don't know if she has some sort of super running power or what but if we didn't watch her like a hawk she was gone.
So, this lady calls and she's pissed that my dog has been out, I can understand that.  Well then she tells me about how her dog got out and was hit by a car, and yeah, I realize that Sunshine could be hit by a car and I worry about her, but we could NOT find her some nights (we'd wait up until she came home).  Well the woman is trying to be polite but you can tell that she'd really like to rip me a new one....then the stupid moron tells me, "Well me and the neighbors have been feeding her, we thought she was a stray!" WTF?!?!?! no fucking wonder she coming back you stupid bitch, YOU ARE FEEDING HER!!!! And besides, when does a stray dog (that, according to their theroy, was dropped off here by a family in another county, because her tags are from the county we got her in) Run around with a collar and TWO tags?? One being rabies? The other a microchip tag????  Now, call me crazy but if I were the type of person to drop a dog off, I wouldn't leave her identification on her, HELLFUCKINGOOOO????!!!!!!  Then the stupid idiots were FEEDING HER!!!!!!! When the woman told me that I laughed and said, "OH! Well that's why she keeps running off, down there." STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!! (no, I didn't call her stupid, lol) The woman got offended and I told her we'd come get our dog.  Then of course she acts all high and mighty towards DH.  She even asked DH if we really wanted her and if not she'd take her...Because you know, she thought she knew all about dogs, hers was an outside dog who got loose and went right into the main road the nighborhood is off of...my dog is an inside dog.

Now, don't get me wrong, we've been watching her and I've even put her on the tie-out but she just SITS when she's on the tie-out, then she comes inside goes into her crate and that's it.  If we keep tying her out and then in the crate, the minute we open the door or she gets loose she's off, and then she'll stay gone for about an hour or more...trust me...  I know that I need a fence and we're working on that, but gawd damn, I'm doing the best I can and besides, Sunshine is TERRIFIED of traffic and anything loud.  And ya know, before she was being fed she only ran off MAYBE once a week, MAYBE!  At any rate, we're tying her out and working on the whole fence thing...gawd, I just need to move out into the country with about 10 acres for her and Sammie to roam on with NO FUCKING NEIGHBORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, you can comment and tell me what a horrible dog-owner I am, I already know that...I rescued her and give her a warm home, but because she likes to explore, I'm a horrible person...I'll go hide under a rock....You can even tell me about your dogs that were hit by cars.....Because gawd knows that I'm a moron and just don't get it.... (I'm so being facetious here).

  • Well, I didn't buy a paper....I would never do that, and not just because I'm cheap, but I'm so fucking paranoid that I just *know* I'd get caught.  I did, however, finish my paper this morning and turned it in and all that jazz.  DH read it and said that it was pretty good, I hope it was, I just want a B..an A would ROCK but a B would be sufficent.

My mom is taking the kids tonight and will return them Monday morning, YAY!!!!!!! NO KIDS!!! HOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!  Both the kids are excited to go to 'Grammy's'...I can't blame them, I'd want to be away from me too!   So DH have a whole two nights and one FULL DAY to do whatever we want and honestly, we can't think of anything...well other than staying in bed all day Sunday ...but it'd be nice to do something else together.  A movie just doesn't excite me, I hate people at movie theaters, crowds bother me like you wouldn't believe.  I can put up with crowds usually but I get agitated and DH doesn't like it when I'm agitated so he really doesn't want to go anywhere with me on a Saturday night.... So does anyone have any really cool, staying home, being together, ideas for me?  We've come up with a few but they're the usual boring crap..watching movies, pay-per-view, etc...*SIGH*  Oh well it'll be nice to be in a house and not have to hear, "mmmmaaaaaawwwwwwwmmmmmmmm" every five seconds. Yep, that'll be nice in its self!

I cannot wait for Spring break, ONE MORE WEEK, YAY!!!!!!! I think I'll probably go and check out my schedule of assignments for next week and get a start on them...that way I'll have, basically, 2 weeks off! HOOO HOOOO!!!!  Ok, I'm off to find my assignments! Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Well.....I have notes for my Art Histyory paper.  That's a girst step.  Now I have to read more, take more notes, then write the fucking paper...and this is just the first one of MANY! I wish I knew where a 'buy-a-term-paper' place was, I'd just buy the paper..ok, probably not because I'm super cheap, but you know, it's good to dream.......

We have sattelite TV.  After my next door neighbor took a gas powered post-hole digger and dug 3ft wide holes all up and down my yard, hitting the cable connection...we sort of had to get Sattelite...so we got Dish Network.  Well they did some stupid shit, but I figured, they're just the TV company, fuck 'em.  Well DH called and ordered Direct TV the other day and it was installed yesterday.  We get more channels, 2 receivers and it's actually cheaper!! so that was sweet.  I had to pay the guys, when they left, a whole $1.07 for the 2nd receiver.  So we have cool TV, still LOL Alright, off to work on the paper, GAWD!! Yes, I suck at papers, truly madly SUCK!  Have a great weekend I'll try to update soon!

  • Just for JKjoker....

LTs party was cool.  Most of my boys' parties include, Grammy, Grandpa, Aunt Hussy (And the current man if there is one, Dirty Bastard was there), and B and her family.  My Mom brings the cake (from Publix) and then we wait for Hussy to be late (or B as it were for BT's party).  After everyone arrives, we let the birthday child open gifts, we eat cake then I tell my family goodbye.  Yes, that is about as long as they stay.  They've always done this, Hussy is especially bad about it.  My mom hangs around a little after cake but she's gone within 10-15 mins.  Then B hangs out with us until some ungodly hour and they leave and we're done!
Usually the kids stay upstairs and we break out the old N64 and let them play it all night, while the adults drink and 'walk the dogs' and talk.  It's ton o fun for us and the kids.  And that's what we did!

As for de-In-Law-ing my DH well, yeah I think so.  It's amazing what the bedroom will do for that

Well, I'm almost done with my house so let me go finish it.  And I have a paper to write for Art History, GAG!!!!!!! YUCK!!! I HATE HATE HATE HATE papers, with a PASSION!!! DH says he LOVES them, I told him if he loves them and me, the go write it for me! He declined, the assmunch! Have a great Tuesday!!
