  • Fucking Dimwits

Some moron thought that Friday night would be a WONDERFUL night to hack into the internet and spread a worm (virus) that would attack sites with an SQL server.  Thus, my site turtlemama.com and about a bazillion other sites were down for a LONG time.  This, in turn, caused DH's company's network to go psychotic.  He has now been on the phone ALL day and will be for the rest of the night/morning until his boss, in France, decides that going in on Sunday at 1:30PM is a perfect time for him.  I have been sitting here all night with NO KIDS, listening to DH talk to 500 people in 3 different countries trying to get the servers back up and running.  He has been on confrence calls off and on for hours, and has tracked down people (even waking a few of them up) to get them to go into the office and track down the bastard servers throughout all the offices (in 3 countries mind you).

People have decided that building a server that NO ONE in the IT dept knows about, then connecting it to the company's main servers is a GREAT IDEA!! Yeah, Folks...wonderfuckingful idea.....So that when your company gets a worm they can't contain it because you want to be some super computer geek and build a server on the lamb....yep, great idea...keep 'em coming, you'll be the next Bill Gates in NO TIME!  Why don't people just stick to their jobs and quit trying to be some sort of Computer McGyver? GAH!

So here I sit, my mother has my children BOTH OF THEM! FOR THE WHOLE FUCKING NIGHT....and I'm blogging.....I should be cuddling on the couch or watching some good R rated movie on Pay-Per-View or HBO or something.  Instead, I'm here listening to DH talk about Hubs and switches and LAN/WANs.  Trading Spaces is in the background, but I've already seen them at 8pm so that's nothing new...........

Gawd damn hackers...what the fuck is the point anyway?? You gain no monetary reward for fucking around with people and you can't really tell a ton of people about it because then they'd report your skank ass.... Granted a few hackers are helpful, but people doing shit just to say, "yeah, I did that." is just so fucking stupid..WHAT IS THE POINT PEOPLE?!?!?!?!?!?! Fucktards.

  • Boo Boo Rar!

That is what BT is chanting, right now.  While LT acts scared.  My children, entertaining themselves, ahhhhhhhhhh.

So I actually went out of my house (gasp!) and did errands today.  First it was Toys R Us to get BT a Nintendo game for his Bday (with his gift card from FIL and SMIL).  While we were there a little boy was playing one of BT's favorite games, on the demo display.  The little boy was having a hard time on one of the boards that BT can complete in about 15sec.  BT stood and watched for a little while then came up to me and asked if he could talk to the boy. (We have taught BT that if he ever wants to talk to someone he doesn't know, he should first ask us, kids and grown ups alike.) After I told him he could talk to the little boy he walked up and tapped the boy on the shoulder and said, "Excuse me, I use my tummy to get across that part, it's easier."  The little boy just looked at him then went back to playing the game.  I was SO PROUD of my kid for being so stinkin' polite.  It was the best, I'm sure I beamed for the rest of our TRU experience!   I, on the other hand, was in utter Hell.  All the public schools are out today so parents had just dropped their 7-12yr olds off at Toys R Us and the place was CRAWLING with rude, snotty, bratty little kids.  And in the midst of it all my 5 yr old had better manners than any of those kids.....I love my kids!!!!!

Next, we went to PetSmart and bought way too much for all our pets, or maybe we just have too many gawd damn animals and we should have one or two for dinner, they're fucking EXPENSIVE!!!!!  But hey, I really enjoy getting new toys for my aquariums and the dogs and cats seemed particularly happy that they now have food!

Last we went where all the rude fucks of the North Atlanta area go on a Friday afternoon....Publix.  People were everywhere and they were all pissed at someone else around them.  It was a big huge mess and I got to throw myself and 2 small children into the monkey shit called Publix.

After Publix, I just came home, I told BT that we might stop and get something to eat, but really I'm too tired to stop anywhere else and I had already spent more money than I should have.  BUt damnit all to hell, my kid was N I C E to another kid who either A) Was shocked that a child of only 5 was actually SPEAKING to him; or B) Was just a rude little kid with no manners...ok, there could be a C) Was too shy to say anything  but seriously, my kids at least SPEAK when spoken to.....but ya know, BT did sort of scare the kid off and he was able to play the demo thingy....hehehehe

  • IT SNOWED, IT SNOWED, IT SNOWED!!!!!!

Last night before going to bed (2am, actually), I told the DH, "Ya know I'm just ready for Spring, we're not going to get anymore snow and just cold with no snow, SUCKS!"  The weather people said snow for last night but it wouldn't stick.  At 2am there was no snow, it was just cold as hell, I figured that our one and only chance for snow had passed last week..off to bed.
This morning, DH comes in and wakes me up saying, "Honey, Honey...you got your snow!  I'm not going into work, the road is iced over and there are 4 cars spun out over the bridge!"  I wake up and head to the window and sure enough, a little dusting of snow and about 4 cars all turned the wrong way sitting on a HUGE patch of ice that is the busy road next to our house, with a line of cars going up the road.  The whole road was a sheet of ice and NO ONE was prepared.  They've shut down interstates, main highways, all that good stuff.
And yes, you can laugh at us southerners and shutting down with less than an inch of snow, but it isn't really the snow so much as the ice all over the roads, and not one county was prepared for any of this...And I've seen northerners during an ice storm trying to drive, now THAT is funny! In the south, we know better than to try to drive when every road is a big sheet of ice! No matter how well you drive, snow or no snow, ice is totally different! Besides, Atlanta is nothing but transplanted 'yankees' anyway! lol
I've taken a TON of shots, I even braved the nice warm temp of 16 with 15mph winds to get you people (ok, really it's for me) good shots of a southern snow. They are
    HERE...ENJOY!

I'm off for orange cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa, extra marshmallows! Have a great day everyone and stay warm!!!

  • I'm all registered for classes....Design Concepts, and Art History through the 16th century.  This should be fun.  I'll have a TON of papers to write for Art History.  The teacher is one of those that puts something up to read then tells you to write about it.  Which makes no sense.  Read something on a subject that someone else wrote, then you, and 15 other students, should write about what you just read.  How in the hell does a teacher like that not gouge her eyes out with her pen?  Or hell, I'd probably just use my fingernails..how boring to read something, the same something, 16 different ways...and do it the same every semester.  Yuck!

So yesterday was BT's birthday.  I forgot about it.  Yes, I know I'm his mother, I gave birth to him.  But it doesn't matter because I didn't realize that his birthday was Tuesday until Sunday.  No plans for a party, no presents, nothing.  But he remembered, of course, and I told him that we'd have to wait on his party.  He seemed a bit upset (who wouldn't be?!).  But then he got a gift in the mail from FIL and SMIL.  At first he opened a Ralph Lauren T-shirt with a fish on it and exclaimed, "Oh its just clothes."  Then I explained why clothes for presents was such a cool idea, I think he might have gotten the idea....then he opened the card that was enclosed in his little box, and found $50 to Toys R Us...he was quite please with the whole gift card concept! LOL  We are having a party but it will be a week from this Saturday.

  • We didn't get snow, just some freezing rain and sleet, it's all melted but the roads will be a joy in the morning.  But hey, I don't work so I don't give a damn!  DH does work though, hope gets there OK, that would suck if he didn't.

My poor cat has a big read mark on her shoulder and I keep thinking it's blood.....it's lipstick.  I don't know how to get that out of her fur and she bites like a big raving bitch so I'll be damned if I'M going to try to put liquid on her...her coat can shed it out.

LT finally took a bath and the constant, full-bodied blush is finally gone.  I didn't get pictures because I don't have any film and no digicam, GAWD DAMN NO DIGICAM, DAMNIT ALL TO HELLLLLLL!  That would have been a cute picture, he was sort of funny to look at but then when you looked at my comforter and my sheets, he stopped looking so funny.

I don't have anything to write about anymore....I mean I could tell you about sis' repelling adventures off of her neighbor's side yard with a blower strapped to her back, but really it wouldn't be that funny to you all...although I'm seriously chuckling about it now as I type this.  I guess that I'll have to have my kids do something cool.....like say funny things.

BT is a thinker, meaning he likes math, A LOT...science, well ya know some of it is interesting to him but mainly he's all about the math.  He's almost 5, on Tuesday...he'll be FIVE, omg...*pausing for reflection* Reflection over.  He can add double digits pretty well, and subtraction is pretty easy, and he loves every minute of it.  So I decide that today we'll make a collage with pictures of things that all start with the same letter. I figure, it's artsy and he enjoys working with letters almost as much as numbers.   I asked BT for his favorite letter (C) and he began going through a catalog of mine cutting out 'C' things...we have a TON of cut out cat pictures.  So then I tell him he can glue them to a stiff piece of paper any way he wants.  As I'm showing him how to glue with a glue stick he says...
"Mama, let's count all of our pictures! one..two..three.."  All that I can think (being the art major that I am) is,
"NO, SON, NO!! You're thinking with the wrong side of your brain, this is ART, MAN!! ART!!!!!" He then says,
"Wow we have nineteen pictures, cool!"  Of course I tell him that's cool now let's glue....

    BT's collage

Thankfully LT likes tools and working with his hands, maybe he'll be my design assistant? A mother can dream can't she?

  • It is LT sneaking awake and finding my favorite lipstick (I don't wear make-up and I still LOVED that lipstick) and proceeding to 'color' the floor, fireplace, walls, bathroom cabinets & floors, his face, his PJs (fleece), the window sill, bedroom door, the cat (Alice, the white one) and my $400 brocade comforter and sheets......(I didn't pay $400 for them, I paid $100 but damnit I was proud of that comforter set!).
That is what is 3.5 feet tall, fleece-y, wet (morning diaper), and covered in 'Healthy' (the color name of the lipstick).

But the pond guess was a pretty good one!! LOL

  • What's about 3.5 feet tall, fleece-y, wet, and covered in healthy?

Answer later on today, but come on, someone give me your best guess!!
